Birds

There are 10,000 species of bird. There are around 10,000 different species of bird.

All birds lay eggs.

Camping

 Campers spend an average $128.26 on their first camping trip. Around 68% of adult campers in the United States are married or living with a partner, which suggests that camping is a family activity. The most popular type of shelter among campers is a tent. It always rains on tents.

  • Canada has an amazing number of insects.
  • Lyme disease takes longer to take effect than you'd think.
  • Raccoons may sound like cats, but you shouldn't cuddle them.
  • Your campfire may be a hazard.
  • Camping can relieve stress and depression.
  • You get more exercise

    Camping is an active pastime, and whether you canoe, hike or enjoy a ramble through the scenery, you're increasing your daily activity levels and therefore reaping a bunch of health benefits. More daily activity means a healthier heart, a faster metabolism and more resilient joints and muscles.
Some like to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature. Some families go camping to revitalize their relationships, away from all the distractions at home. Many youth organizations teach young people how to build a fire, pitch a tent, or read a compass.

What are wetlands

Wetlands are areas where water covers the soil, or is present either at or near the surface of the soil all year or for varying periods of time during the year, including during the growing season. Wetlands may support both aquatic and terrestrial species.

How many wetlands are there in NZ

54.2 percent of our total 2016 wetland area did not change over the period representing 80.6 percent of wetlands.

Types of Wetlands

  • Marshes.
  • Swamps.
  • Bogs.
  • Fens.
  • Birds. Wetlands usually contain a variety of habitats that provide food, shelter and breeding sites for many native birds.
  • Fish. Longfin and shortfin eels are found throughout New Zealand's wetlands.

Plastic pet bottle and cap.

Materials

Bug for a group of 3

50ml of water

½ tsp of water

½ tsp of sugar 

½ tsp of ginger 

Method

1 In a bowl, put the sugar and cream of tartar, then add the warm water.
